Terms of Service

Effective date: July 20, 2026

Welcome to MyStoryAbout. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and StorySafe, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("StorySafe," "we," "us," or "our"), and govern your use of mystoryabout.com and the services we provide through it (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is (and isn't)

MyStoryAbout helps people collect video stories. Campaign owners create a campaign and share a link or QR code; storytellers use that link to record or upload a short video, which is transferred directly into the campaign owner's own Google Drive.

MyStoryAbout is a transfer and organization tool, not a video host. We do not store, host, or maintain copies of submitted videos. Once a video lands in a campaign owner's Google Drive, it is in the owner's possession and control. We also do not edit videos or produce finished tribute or social media videos.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and act as a campaign owner. Storytellers must be at least 13 years old; storytellers under 18 may submit stories only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet the applicable requirement.

3. Accounts

Campaign owners must provide accurate account information and keep their login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@mystoryabout.com if you suspect unauthorized use. Storytellers do not need an account to submit a story.

4. Google Drive connection

To collect stories, a campaign owner must connect a Google account. The Service uses Google's limited drive.file permission, which only allows us to create folders and place files in folders the app creates. Your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for Google Drive itself — including its availability, storage limits, or any loss of files stored there. If you disconnect your Google account or revoke access, the Service will be unable to receive new submissions for your campaigns until you reconnect.

5. Fees

The core Service — creating campaigns and collecting stories — is currently free. We may introduce optional paid features or plans in the future. If we do, pricing will be clearly disclosed, and no charge will ever be imposed on you without your agreement.

6. Content and ownership

Your content stays yours. Storytellers own the videos they create. Campaign owners own their campaign materials (titles, descriptions, prompts, photos).

Storyteller consent and license. By submitting a video to a campaign, a storyteller grants the campaign owner permission to use, reproduce, edit, and share that video for the purposes described at submission — such as creating tribute videos, social media content, and related projects — as confirmed by the consent checkbox at the time of submission. If a storyteller wishes to withdraw consent later, they should contact the campaign owner, who holds the video.

License to us. Solely to operate the Service, you grant StorySafe a limited, non-exclusive license to receive, process, and transmit your content (for example, to transfer a submitted video into the campaign owner's Drive and to display campaign pages). This license ends when the content is delivered or removed from the Service, and it does not give us any right to publish or commercially exploit your content.

Your responsibilities. You represent that you have the rights to the content you submit and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. Campaign owners are solely responsible for how they use, edit, publish, and share videos they receive, including complying with applicable laws and honoring the scope of storyteller consent.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to submit or collect content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, pornographic, or exploitative of minors; to impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation; to upload malware or attempt to probe, disrupt, or overload the Service; to scrape the Service or access it by automated means without our permission; or to violate any applicable law. We may remove campaigns or content metadata, suspend accounts, or refuse service where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated. Because videos reside in campaign owners' own Drives, removal from the Service does not remove a video from an owner's Drive.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party services, most notably Google Drive, and may link to others. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for them. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY PARTICULAR SUBMISSION WILL BE SUCCESSFULLY TRANSFERRED. BECAUSE VIDEOS ARE STORED IN CAMPAIGN OWNERS' OWN GOOGLE DRIVE ACCOUNTS AND NOT BY US, WE HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE STORAGE, RETENTION, LOSS, OR CORRUPTION OF VIDEOS AFTER TRANSFER, OR FOR CONTENT CREATED BY USERS.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYSAFE, LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StorySafe, LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another — including, for campaign owners, claims arising from your use or publication of videos submitted to your campaigns.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or its users, and we may discontinue the Service (or any part of it) with reasonable notice to campaign owners. Upon termination, your videos remain in your Google Drive — they are yours. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 10, 11, 12, and 14) survive.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may seek relief in small-claims court for qualifying disputes.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify campaign owners by email or by a notice on the Service before the changes take effect and update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

16. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and StorySafe regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
